History
Ice
cream was never really invented. It more or less envolved on its own.
Even so, history isn't quite sure of the cold facts surrounding that
evolution. Western historians have long claimed that ce cream originated
in biblical times.During the first century A.D the Roman emperor Nero
Claudius Caesar regurlaly sent his slaves high up into the Appenines
for snow to chill wines and fruit juices. One day some bungler spilled
salpenter on the packed snow, supercooling it and freezing the juices
into sluchy ice.
On the other side
of the globe, Eastern historians believe it was the Chinese who first
developed the technology for making ices, and there's good evidence to
back them up. The adverturer Marco Polo returned to Europe from his
thirdteenth-century Far Eat expeditions with recipes for delicious ice
flavored with exotic fruits and with tales of their having been enjoyned
in Asia for thousands of years.
No one knows when
ice cream was first made. In 1295, the Italian trader like I mention
before Marco Polo returned to Europe from China and may have brougth
recipes for water ices.During the 1600's, Europeans used combinations
of ice, snow, and a mineral called salpenterto freeze mixtures of cream, fruit
and spices.
