What is Human Trafficking? The actual definition is described as the following: the practice of people being tricked, lured or otherwise removed from their home or country, and then compelled to work with no or low payment or on terms which are highly exploitative. The conditions they live in are inhumane. They are forced to work as slaves. Human Trafficking is Modern Day Slavery. There are over 27 million victims today. No denying that the number is sadly high, but still very true. |

Who does it involve? Anyone can be a victim of human trafficking and anyone could be a trafficker. Even in America there are victims, both from other countries and from the U.S. Many people believe that the 13th amendment got rid of slavery. This is a false statement. All it did was make it illegal. In a perfect world, everyone would follow the rules. But you and I both know that isn't possible. People have found ways around these laws. |

What conditions
do the victims live under?
The answer varies for every victim because of course not every victim has the same trafficker. In all causes, the trafficker beats the person into submission. In most situations the traffickers often rape the victim. Its a way of showing dominence and breaking down the spirit of the slave.Sex trafficking is the most common form of traffic. Victims are forced to serve up to 50 men a night. The customers vary by how many the women and children can get. Most of the money, if not all, goes to the trafficker. Child traffic involves about 2.2 million children every year. The youngest sex slave was under age 5. There are things called Chicken Farms which is where men rape women, impregnate them, and then raise the children to be slaves. In Chicken Farms, children are sold for prostitution. |
