Project Status = Complete!
This project has been completed!
After six years and over 100 students the LMHS Project is complete. The result
is almost 90 minutes of digitial video on two DVDs.

In addition to the two DVDs, all
interviews that were conducted have been compiled with limited editing to provide
oral histories for future use.
At this time, the DVD is not available
for sale to the public. We will be working on the details required for proper
distribution. At the current time, two copies are available in the Monroe Local
Schools Media Center for check out.
Primary
focus for 2008:
- Establish
Copyright status for the music used in the project (if
you have experience in this area we could use some expertise)
- Release a two DVD Project
to the community if possible
- Finish archiving
all interviews and raw footage on DVD for the Historical Society and the Monroe
Local Schools Matson Learning Center
What we've accomplished:
- Completed
Interviews with members of the classes of 1954 and 1984
- Interviewed
various alumni back as far as the class of 1928

Entered a 5 minute segment on "Monroe Sports History" in the Miami
University Middletown, "Technology Challenge"
- Researched
History of the district
- Scanned
photographs from the 1800s to the present
- Created
and revised documentary project web page
- Created
a tape library of footage comprised of 40+ sixty minute tapes
- Shot,
edited and produced a reunion compilation DVD for the class of 1954 (some
of this will be included in our final project)
- Shot
edited and produced a DVD of the new building dedication
- Interviewed
various staff members that are LMHS alumni and currently teach in the district
Upgraded our software to Final Cut Express
- We
are in the final stages of a 30 minute summary of Monroe's sport's history
from the 1920s to the present
- Inventoried,
cleaned and shot video of all trophies prior to moving from the old building

the Superintendent, Mr. Arnol Elam IMAGES
- Created
a project "Sampler" for the school board
Interviewed Dr. Benner - Band Director from the 1940s who wrote the school
Alma Mater and fight song IMAGES

Paul Morrow - Band Director in the 1950s and 60s who is responsible for the

The
documentary has been shot and edited by students throughout the previous school
years using Sony digital video equipment, iMacs, Final Cut Express, Windows
based machines, Pinnacle Studio 9 and a Smith-Victor Lighting Kit.
