Origins of the Monroe Athletic Hall of Fame

Lemon Monroe High School has chosen the year of its 100th birthday to begin the Hornet Athletic Hall of Fame. On February 19, 1982 eight men were chosen for induction -- Lynn St. John, Wolfred Theis, Tony Shultheiss, Ralph Pickelsimer, Alex Fultz, Jr. Leonard Powell, Steve Strinko and Dale Ridenour. Besides the induction, Fultz'e Jersey 6, Powell's 23 and Strinko's 72 were retired.
